4th Trip to MSQC

My friend & I headed up to MO Star Quilt Co this morning. I left my house at 6:30, before the sun was up. We always have fun & this trip we new exactly what we were going for. I needed fabric for a baby quilt & he wanted horse fabric. We both found our items. Then lunch at Blue Sage in Hamilton. I quick jaunt to Crossroads Quilt Store in Cameron. And the to Ben Franklin, on our way back home. And topped it all off with pie! Fun day!

New machine

I have been working on a baby quilt and I even appliqued little hearts on it! I am notorious for forgetting to change my feet on my machine. I almost always use my 1/4" seam allowance foot. But when appliqueing, I need a different foot on it. Needless to say, last Friday I did it again.
I find a needle in my desk drawer & stuck it on. I tried a couple times to applique but the needle hit the foot & an error message/alarm goes off. After a couple failed attempts I switched needles & it snapped another needle. That was it for me. I loaded up the Bernetta 92c & off I went to Top Stitch, out by Versailles, MO.
When I arrived, a young Mennonite girl greets me. I tell her I am there to get my machine worked on. I fill out the tag & wander over to the used machines. I see newer Bernetta, a few other newer machines and then I see the Bernina 440 QE. I have wanted one for years! Another Mennonite girl comes over & I ask about it & she explains how nice it is. The owner of Top Stitch comes out. We discuss price. I remind him I bought my Bernetta from him, brand new & was looking to trade up. We strike a deal & I come home with the Bernina!
I cant believe how nice & smooth it sews. Or how I sewed with the old one that many years! I am so happy with my new machine!

Mid America RV Show

My husband & I were up at 5:20AM to head to Kansas City to the RV show. We went with our friends & had a great time. We found 2 we liked. One was Gulf Stream's, Amerilite. Really good living area space. Bigger bunk beds & 1 slide. The other was Prime Time's,  Tracer. Big roomy bathrooms! There wasn't near as much variety. No air-streams, fun finders, or even tear drops. Like my husband said a lot of the same campers.
But we still had a fantastic time. We stopped at Corner Cafe for breakfast & then a late lunch at Hamburger Mary's. Just a really fun day! Sorry not much photos of the RVs this time.

Christmas and New Years

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is staying warm! It is a balmy 3 degrees in Missouri right now. I hope this bitter cold kills off ticks, fleas and beetles. However it's perfect sewing weather and lots of babies coming this year! Time to get cracking on baby quilts!
We had a nice Christmas but tremendously missed our loved ones who have passed on. My sister could not come home. I am thankful my mother in law joined us this year. My grandson is always entertains of course! Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
