Pillowcase craze

I wanted to make everyone a mugrug for Christmas. I have a bunch appliqued but not finished. I wasn't sure if I would quilt them or not. And binding; well I'm horrible at binding. So I made pillowcases for my sewing gift this year. I have a few more to make but here is what I have so far.

Getting close to Ho Ho Time

We had a little bit of snow earlier this week but it was gone by noon. It doesn't look like it will be a white Christmas this year. I've still got things to do like wrap gifts but I have most my baking done. I'm going to see my sister Monday. I'm going to pick her up and then we will go get our 99 year old grandma. Yes, 99. She will be 100 in Feb. I am blessed to have a grandma still. And she loves sweets! I've made snicker doodles and sugar cookies. She'll love them.

Decorations

I'm normally not a big fan of Christmas but I want to make it special for my grandson so I have been working on my house. This is the first year I put up a tree in years.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Tie blanket

I had a friend ask me to make this for her daughter. I had the fabric in my car for 2 weeks, I've been procrastinating. I do not like making these blankets. I can whip them out in no time flat but I guess it's my back. I've hurt my back many times and sometimes I can't even carry my purse without being in pain. Sitting on the floor hunched over, makes me back cramp up. But I got it done and I have to admit, feels good to have it off my list of things to do.

First snowfall

We have our first snowfall in Missouri and it was early followed by some serious cold temperatures. I love snow but I have to admit, this is way too early for me. I took my grandson out with me to check out the snow. He is almost 2 and wasn't sure what to think of the white stuff on his boots but he enjoyed getting outside for a short walk with Grandma.

T-Shirt Quilt

My best friend's daughter asked me to make a T-shirt quilt for her son. I love her son, so I couldn't say no. His mom said he likes marvel hero's like Thor and Hulk. Her son is 5 and I think he's going to love it.

Meramec State Park camping trip

Last camping trip of 2014 is always Meramec State Park. I really enjoyed our trip as usual. The adorable costumes and great weather! My Corgi's love to camp but the mutt isn't hip on it being he has to be on a running line. I can't wait for next April to go camping again.

Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival

This is normally the last festival we attend. The weather wasn't the best but we still had a good time.

I love October

It's only the beginning of Oct and I have had so much fun already. I got to go to Missouri Star Quilt Company, make a twister quilt and spend the weekend with both my kids and grandson. Here are some photos of October so far.

Wine tasting

My husband and I normally go to the Mary's Home Picnic on this day but it was going to be so hot. Temps in the mid 90's. We decided to go to a winery and have lunch. We found a wonderful winery in the Fulton area, a must try if you are in the area.

Then we went to an antique mall. We had a really good time today!

MO State Fair

I'm running behind my posts. A couple weeks ago my husband and I attended the MO State Fair in Sedalia. We love this fair because there is so much to see. Much more than the local fairs have to offer.
