We just got home from Bennett Springs State Park near Lebanon, MO. My hubby and I were supposed to be there Friday but my dad had a procedure in St. Louis Friday morning and I wanted to be there. We drove down early yesterday morning and caught up with our friends. We had a great time but it was so chilly last night. I didn't catch a single fish but I still had a wonderful time. I can't wait to go camping with our friends again!

KC Trip

My son and I headed to Kansas City this past Friday. He's has landed a good job just over the border in Kansas City, Kansas. We were on a mad search to find him a place to live ASAP. It was the only weekend he has open between this weekend and the first day of his job. Friday we only got into see one apartment complex. They were on 8th and Walnut. I have to admit I wasn't thrilled with the area. Then we went to look at a place called Cold Storage and it as down on 3rd street. Scary!  Saturday morning we hit the ground running. We saw 2 by the plaza, nixed the next one, checked out a loft at 16th and Walnut and then the Roanoke ones. He liked the loft but we had an issues with them leasing to someone else, even though we gave them a check to hold it so he settled on the Roanoke. I like the area of the Roanoke the best. Close to the plaza and Westport.
I'm sad to see my son move away but I'm only 2 hours or so away. And what a great place to visit.

Morel

I have a lot of catching up to do on my blog but here was my big find this morel season. Yep, that's it. One. Was it worth the poison ivy I now have on my left knee, you betcha!

Getting ready for our first camping trip of 2012

These past few days I've been scurrying in and out of my camper. I'm trying to think of everything possible we will need before we start camping. I have towels, blankets, RV TP, plates, cups, paper towels, dish soap, shampoo, hair dryer, extension cord, games and even the dogs bowls. It never fails, I always forget something, check list or not.

First post in a while

I had removed my blog, I grew tired of it but here I am again.




We've had an addition to the family. We have a new dog. He's a pound puppy named, Jake. Cute guy but high strung. He's a 3 to 4 year old Border Collie mix. Now my Corgi, Dudley, has a buddy. I race him on the ATV and my goodness he's fast! He's not the best with the cats but he's doing pretty good. He's potty trained but we have to be careful with food. My husband and I like to have snacks will watching TV. I walked away the other night while on the phone. Came back and my piece of cake had sprouted legs. All in all he's a good boy.

Our first camping trip is coming up. We will be headed to Bennett Springs State Park in Lebanon. I'm very excited to say the least. I will post some photos of our trip after we get back.
