Missouri's Newest State Park - Echo Bluff

My husband and I got away this weekend to MO's newest state park, Echo Bluff in Shannon County. It opened last July and what a gorgeous park it is. The MO Dept of Natural Resources have done a great job with this park. Its a small campground but I really enjoyed it and all the trails even though there was 5 inches of rain while we were there. We still walked as much as we could but the red clay and mud stopped us from going too far. We are looking forward to going back again when the weather is warmer and we can swim/kayak Sinking Creek.

April showers bring May flowers

We have had a lot of rain but that is what happens this time of year. The MO River is about to bust it banks but the sun has come out and it is a beautiful day. I hope to find some morel mushrooms with the warm and sunny days. Our first camping trip is weeks away!
