February 2020

January brought us colder temperatures and snow. This first day of February brought us 40+ degrees, sunshine & daffodils coming up. I put up the few Valentine's decorations I have after i finished a quilt top this morning. I took the camper quilt & another one i had, to be quilted, at Rooster Creek. I'm looking forward to see what design, Teresa Cuno, the owner, picks out for me. And tomorrow is Superbowl Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs made it, for the 1st time in 50 years! My husband is making chilli & in making meatballs. The stores will be packed with the excitement of our beloved Chiefs. I am not a football fan but i like the commercials. And J-Lo is the halftime show.  Other then that, I'd find something else to watch.

Quilts for k

I love piecing quilts & hopefully I learn to hand quilt. But for now I take them to be quilted. My grandson loves Pokemon and his favorite color is orange. The gray & white us for my best friend's granddaughter.  I need to find a cheaper hobby but as one lady pointed out, I'm not on drugs or have a gambling issue! True!

Second quilt of 2019

I bought all this material to make someone close to me a quilt. They passed away before I could finish it. I finally decided to finish piecing it and get it quilted. I decided to donate the quilt for the Mental Health Champions Banquet. It is something close to my heart!

Two baby quilts

My cousin is having twins. She is having a boy & girl. The 2nd set of twins on my dad's side of the family. I looked for fabric that would compliment each quilt. I found this adrable ocean fabric. I washed them & shipped them to her today. Hope she likes them!

A quilt for Eloise

I made another baby quilt. I just got it back and washed it this morning. This is for one of my good friends, newest granddaughter, Eloise. She was born in December so it it is late in coming. I did some applique on this quilt. I hope it doesn't fall apart! I kind of winged it but I think it turned out cute.
On to the next one. I have all my blocks and I am in the process of ironing them.

The wedding gift

A dear friend of mine, who's an amazing person, got married November 4th. I had the best intentions of having her wedding quilt finished in time but it did not happen.
I finally finished the top & got it to the quilter to be quilted & bound. I got it back yesterday & washed t & will give it to her next week. Better late than never!

Rooster Creek Quilt Show 2017

I had to buy more fabric for a Christmas Quilt im working on. While i was there i popped over to the quilt show just across from the fabric shop.
Beautiful quilts & even some vendors! A lady doing demonstrations. I loved the antique sewing machine tables & sewing machine lampshop too. Very nice show!
