Camping at the Lake of the Ozarks Sept 13 - 15

My friend bought a newer camper. He purchased a 29 ft. with a slide and he wanted to pull it somewhere close before we take off on farther trips with hills. We planned our trip to the Lake of the Ozarks. It is close enough yet hilly enough he can see how his Chevy 1500 would do. They are looking at a bigger truck. Meanwhile I picked the weekend of Bike Fest! Over 90,000 bikers were rumbling around the lake. Now normally, State Parks are quiet and not too rowdy. Not last weekend though. They rolled in at 11:30 and a few found it funny to rev the motors. I used to have a bike myself. Two Harley. My 1200 Sportster was incredibly loud. Now I prefer to listen to the birds and the kids playing. The crackle of the campfires. Needless to say, next year, this weekend in September, we will go away from the Lake of the Ozarks. There were a lot of deer this camping trip. Fun to see the young ones with spots jump around.. The lake was back up to it's bank. Beautiful just too loud!

First Camping Trip of 2019

We had a wonderful time, this passed weekend, camping at Lake of the Ozarks State Park. The boys made new friends and even started a rock selling business. They waited until Saturday evening. Pretty smart, most people had a few drinks  by then. The kids made $4 each and there were kids. New Pokémon cards all around for thee boys! The weather was lovely, we did have a little rain Saturday morning but it makes for great sleeping weather. The lake was really low and the boys got to play around where there was normally water. Great laughs, great wine (a few bottles) and even roasted peeps. Personally, I prefer the regular marshmallows. Beautiful weekend! I am so glad my grandson can go on these camping trips and make memories with us. The camping trips I went on as a kid made for some of my best childhood memories.
