February 2020

January brought us colder temperatures and snow. This first day of February brought us 40+ degrees, sunshine & daffodils coming up. I put up the few Valentine's decorations I have after i finished a quilt top this morning. I took the camper quilt & another one i had, to be quilted, at Rooster Creek. I'm looking forward to see what design, Teresa Cuno, the owner, picks out for me. And tomorrow is Superbowl Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs made it, for the 1st time in 50 years! My husband is making chilli & in making meatballs. The stores will be packed with the excitement of our beloved Chiefs. I am not a football fan but i like the commercials. And J-Lo is the halftime show.  Other then that, I'd find something else to watch.

Happy New Year

This has been an unusably warm winter so far. The week before Christmas we had snow. Christmas Day was in the 60's and my sister and I sat on my mom's deck in the warm sunshine. And today, Mid Missouri is under a flash flood watch. We have had thunder & lightning today. Right now there is no rain and the temperature is 60. Made for some awesome fog on the Missouri River. But tomorrow they are calling for sleet and snow! No wonder I am sick but as they say, if you don't like the weather, stick around for a bit. Wishing everyone a fantastic 2020! I hope to take some fantastic photo this year especially in June after a cruise.

December 18, 2019

Last Sunday and Monday, we got a little snow in central Missouri. Just enough to make the roads slick and the dead landscape a pretty white. As I was on my way to work this morning, I saw we had a fog hovering over the snow. I drove down to the boat access on the Missouri River and snapped a couple photos. It was a beautiful sunrise shinning through the fog. I wish I had used my camera but all I had was my cellphone. The snow will be gone soon and the temperatures will be back up to the 60s next week. I love the snow and always hate to see it melt.

Fulton's Holiday Open House

My husband & I like Fulton a lot. Fulton has great restaurants, adorable old houses with lots of charm & 2 great universities.  Tonight I wanted to see the Holiday Open House on the brick district. We went early to eat at one of our favorite places called Beks. After dinner, we walked around and looked at the Christmas decorations and enjoyed the Christmas music.

A wet and chilly end to 2019 camping season

Meramec State Park, in Sullivan, MO, is hard to reserve. It is a beautiful campground that runs along the clear waters of the Meramec River. We knew we had a chance of rain yesterday and for once, the weather man was right! My husband and I packed up the camper on Friday, grabbed the only dog we own that's a good camping dog and the grandson and headed out. Friday night we sat around the fire and talked, We had a smelly little visitor come by, Mr. Skunk. Or I guess it could be a Mrs. Skunk but it was a skunk! Thankfully nobody was sprayed. e made the best of a soggy day by playing games in my friends camper. And of course the day we come home it is a beautiful 65 degrees and sunny!
My grandson is already asking about next year and I need to get on the ball. Spring will be here before we know it! Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Quilts for k

I love piecing quilts & hopefully I learn to hand quilt. But for now I take them to be quilted. My grandson loves Pokemon and his favorite color is orange. The gray & white us for my best friend's granddaughter.  I need to find a cheaper hobby but as one lady pointed out, I'm not on drugs or have a gambling issue! True!
