We have moved

Moving is something I will never do again. We lived at our last house 9 years and accumulated a lot of stuff. It never fails, we always end up moving in the heat of summer but we actually had some decent days. We are loving our new home but still unpacking boxes but taking our time doing so.

Happy 4th 2014

My husband and I stopped packing up the house for the afternoon and headed into Jefferson City for the festivities. There was a petting zoo, sand for the kids to play in, a car show and a free concert. We had a really nice time. Hope everyone else did as well.

Baby quilt for great niece

I should have been on this a long time ago. The baby shower will be here before I know it and I want to have this quilted and washed before the shower. I haven't been sewing much with us listing our house and my dad being in the hospital. Yesterday marked 3 months since my dad's heart valve replacement. He's had many set backs. He's still in the nursing home, for rehab, but I pray will be coming home soon. Anyway, this is the rail fence pattern. First time I've made this pattern. I think it turned out really cute!

Church picnics

It's that time of year again. Summertime church picnics. Lots of food and quilts, 2 of my favorite things! These photos are of a picnic I recently attended when my sister was visiting.

Moving

We have been looking at homes for a long time now. We made an offer on one today and hopefully we get good news tomorrow they have accepted our offer. I will miss the peace and quiet of where we currently live but time for a change.

Festive table runner

I haven't made a table runner in years. I found some cute Independence Day fabric here and there over the years. One rainy day, I started on it. I finally finished it today. Have a great week!

Onondaga Cave State Park

My husband and I celebrated our 9th anniversary this past Monday. We also took off for a camping trip to Onondaga Cave State Park. We tried to camp there last year but it was flooding so they sent us gift certificates to reimburse us.
Missouri is having an early summer. Monday was over 90 degrees. Way too hot for this time of year. My husband and I found the Meramec River perfect for an escape from the heat. We spent Tuesday in the river as well. I toured Onondaga Cave during the midday. If you get a chance, this is a very nice small park. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the park during the week.
