Ahhhh Spring

It's been rather warm in mid Missouri. So warm some people, just a few hours South, are finding morel mushrooms already! Today the temperatures are in the 80s. I know all of you summer lovers are loving this but I'm a cool weather person. Today is too warm for me and my Corgis! But I am enjoying all the budding plants! I just wish it would cool back off to normal temperatures for this time of year. I don't want to run my A/C next month on my first camping trip. I am really excited for our annual trip coming up, when DNR turns the water back on in the parks. We only went one time last year. Unfortunately, my husband was sick last fall and last summer was too warm, for our liking, to camp.

And now, for the time change issue. I don't like it, most people I know, have never liked it, so do we really need to wake up an hour earlier for the farmers now that they have headlights on the tractors???
Have a great day!

This is me with the time change!

Warm Spring Day

Today is usually warm, the temperature is close to 80. My little grandson is home sick with us today. He had his first throat culture today & let's just say it caused a nasty reaction. While Mason was napping, I walked around the yard, looking at all the flowers. It reminded me of 1987, the year my son was born. That year we also had an early Spring. Where I was living had a huge beautiful magnolia tree in the yard. It had completely bloomed that year, before St Patrick's Day. My son was born on St Patrick's Day, an unusually warm day that year. That night, there was a big thunderstorm. The lights even went out in the old St Mary's Hospital. And following the thunderstorm were very cold temperatures. I hope this early Spring in not a repeat of 1987.

RV show

My husband and I drove down South to the annual Springfield, Missouri RV show. It's not as big as KC or St Louis's but it is still a nice show. We saw a few we really liked and we know what we want to upgrade to someday. Somewhere along the way, I lost a bracelet my parents go for me in Australia, so I didn't have the best day. However the weather was perfect and I enjoyed spending the day with my husband.

Happy 3rd birthday

Hard to believe my grandson is 3! Time has went by so fast, it doesn't seem possible! We had his party with friends and family at a local park. We could not have asked for better weather, temperatures in the 70's and it was sunny for the most part.

February happenings

My parents have become snow birds so i have inherited their dog for a month. However, prior to my parents leaving, we celebrated my birthday as well as my grandsons birthday, being they will be cruising warm waters somewhere. As a kid, mint chocolate chip was my favorite ice cream and I always wanted a Baskin and Robins ice cream cake every year. I'm 47, as of yesterday, and my mom still remembers to get me my cake only there isn't a Baskin and Robbins here so its from Cold Stone. Mason's big thing is dinosaurs right now, if you can't tell. My mother-in-law gave me money, a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a beautiful angel, in memory of my grandma. My parents got 2 Vera Bradley purses for my collection. My friend took me to lunch at the Blue Skillet, a wonderful Soul Food Restaurant in Jefferson City. And my husband bought me perfume. I had a wonderful birthday!

A visit from friends

My best friend came and visited us this past weekend. We both have been so busy with life, we hadn't spent real time, I mean, longer then a few hours together, in years. We had a wonderful time. We hit most of the antique stores in Jefferson City, some of our favorite local restaurants and even the Capitol. Time went way too fast but we packed a lot into the weekend. I can't wait to see her again!

I have a dream!

I have a dream of a day when everyone can get along. I wish there were no cancer, no heart disease and kidney failure. There were no drugs just people getting high on life. No mental illness, addictions and no developmental disabilities. No kids in foster care, no child or animal abuse. That is my dream. What is yours?
