First camping trip of 2015

We had a nice time on our first camping trip. Every year, when the state parks turn the water on, we head to Bennett Springs State Park. Normally we have friends meet up with us but this year was different. One couple moved away to Texas. Another couple has a daughter who is ill and another friend, went last weekend and had things to do this year. Even though, it was the two of us, and the dogs, we had a nice time.

The Robins were fighting this weekend. This guy chased off all the other males.

Walking with the boys

My husband is golfing today and I'm loading the camper but at a slow pace. I'm enjoying the birds singing and kicking back with my fur babies. I did manage to take a walk in the woods to look for mushrooms. Didn't find any morels but I did take some photos.
Heading into the woods

Pretty little flowers in the woods

The May Apples are up. This pond/overgrown puddle I call the mosquito pit.

I've always loved these purple flowers

Heading back out of the woods. No mushrooms but I bet the ticks found me.

Jefferson City's Easter Egg Hunt

When my kids were little, the Jefferson City Jaycee's Easter Egg hunt, was a annual tradition. My parents, myself and my son and daughter, would all go to Memorial Park to hunt eggs. The brightly colored plastic eggs would have candy in them and was always a big hit in town for the little ones. This year, my grandson Mason, is old enough to hunt the bright colored eggs. He refused to take a nap so we weren't sure how his humors would be. He started off slow, but after a bit, had it all figured out. Tomorrow the Easter Bunny will be here to hide the real eggs we colored on Friday. Happy Easter to everyone!
Mason says he's ready to hunt eggs

Families lined up around the 2 to 3 years old area. Waiting for the countdown

3,2,1...Go!

Mason grabbing two at a time. He's got the hang of it.

Still a few eggs left in our area.

Happy April Fools Day! I love the warm weather and all the flowers and I'm ready to do some camping. This is the first time we have mowed this year.
